Atlantic Coal plc is a UK based coal mining company with operating subsidiaries in the USA. The company’s shares are traded on the London Stock Exchange’s Alternative Investment Market (AIM) under the ticker ‘ATC.’

Atlantic Coal plc is a trans-Atlantic group focussing on open cast mining and processing of high-grade anthracitic coal.  Atlantic Coal plc was formed in November 2007 by the reverse take over of the Stockton Coal Group (a group of US companies and partnerships) by AIM listed Summit Resources plc.

In particular Atlantic Coal plc specialises in the development of operating assets and incremental reserves.  

Atlantic Coal’s first operating mine and anthracite preparation plant is the Stockton Mine in Pennsylvania USA and the company intends to expand its coal mining and processing operations on both sides of the Atlantic.

Atlantic Coal plc is registered in the UK, with its major trading subsidiaries being the members of the Stockton Coal Group located in Pennsylvania USA and registered in the USA.

The Stockton Coal Group comprises Coal Contractors (1991) Inc., Stockton Anthracite LP and  Stockton Anthracite LLC which are held 100% in Atlantic Coal plc’s USA 100% owned subsidiary Atlantic Coal Holdings Inc..
